Foster Guardian Homes needed for Labrador Retriever
January 17, 2010 by Jeff Fuller
We are going to have 4 labrador retriever puppies that will need homes in 2010. We basically place female dogs in approved homes and keep ownership. It has been a great program we have used to grow our kennel.
I have the details listed below:
- Once approved a family will get a puppy at 7 weeks of age, or an available older dog
- Soggy Acres Retrievers owns the dog and the family or individual enters into a contractual agreement.
- The contract ensures that both sides are protected should a problem arise.
- The dog will be trained to a basic hunting level, to include: Force fetched, collar conditioned, line steady, retrieving simple doubles and full obedience training.
- The yearly vet bills for normal maintenance will be paid by Soggy Acres Retrievers.
- Any vet bills arising from negligence on the host family or other injury will be paid by the Foster Guardian Family.
- The dog, we only do this with females, can be boarded at half price or $10 per day. (when the dog is in heat the board is free)
- When it is time to breed the dog, after they have attained 2 years of age, they will be bred and the litter whelped at our kennel.
-Each time the dog comes into season we need to be notifed, regardless if we are breeding her on the cycle or not.
This program has worked out great for us so far. Our foster families have provided us with loving homes for many of our pups. We in turn have provided great working dogs for the families.
We may have a 3 yoa female available soon. We will also have a puppy from our Maddie and Trooper litter, Josie and Wizard litter and our litter upcoming with Mojo.
Feel free to set up an appointment to discuss getting a fully trainind Soggy Dog
