2010 Journal Sentinal Sport Show

Its a short turn around weekend for the Soggy Acres Labrador Retriever rolling circus this week. We will be off the Milwaukee to set up for the Journal Sentinal Sport show at the state fair grounds on Tuesday. The show runs from Wed. thru Sunday.

I will be there with Lucy and Rommel all week. We will have some great products for sale, along with info about our current and upcoming labrador retriever litters. Ill also have stud info on Rommel, Pickett and all other info about our profesisonal labrador retriever breeding program.

Ill have products from Gunners up, Dokken and Tritronics at the show, as well as our catalog with our full labrador retriever training product line.

Questions about our new training groups, open training night dog boarding or anything else Soggy Acres are welcome!! Stop by and see us at the show!!

2010 Southeastern WI Hunting and Fishing Expo

We will have a corner booth, #41 at the show on March 5th thru 7th at Oconomowoc, WI. Ill have products from Tritronics, Gunners Up, and Dokken at our booth. We have a show special for anyone looking to buy training or dog care supplies.

I have four litters of labrador retriever puppies bred now and another being bred next week with pups of all three colors. Stop by and get info about owning your own soggy dog!

Yard Boundaries

Hey we got a great topic in…… How to train boundaries in your yard to Floppy Ears.

There are a lot of products and methods for this. You can invest a large amount of money into an electric fence or other related products.

I like to use a basic Ecollar and some stern verbal reinforcement. The key to any ecollar training is to first make sure Floppy knows what command you are giving them. The command I would use to teach yard boundries would be’”No, here.” This would establish with Floppy that he/she is not allowed in that area. I would work on this for a week or so. Facilitate Floppy into being corrected. By this I mean put Floppy in a position to be corrected. Simply walk Floppy to the area. Once the Floppy gets near the boundry correct him/her with the command.

Once the Ole Floppy Ears has figured out that there are boundries incorporate the ecollar. This is also the point where you need to have Floppy properly conditioned to the ecollar. If you decide to use this method get a good book that will teach this. Tritroncis Retriever Training is the book suggested by us! We always have several copies and will ship to your house. You can learn further training techniques that are used by the pros in this book. Its an easy read, regimented program, and even I can understand it due to its simple step by step process.
